Diamond Sports Complex
Home of Hillcat Baseball
The Hillcat Baseball Field is located in the southwest corner of the Diamond Sports Complex on the northwest corner of RSU's Claremore campus. Originally built in the spring of 2004 for the club baseball team, it features a brand new professional playing surface, a large inning-by-inning scoreboard, batting cages adjacent to the home dugout and spacious grandstand with seating for 1,200 and lawn chair areas for fans. A large locker room is located behind the Hillcat dugout that includes individual lockers, coaches' offices, an athletic training area, bathrooms, showers and a 42-inch flat screen television and DVD player. Lights were installed on the field in time for the 2008 season.
The centerpiece at the Diamond Sports Complex is a 7,790 square-foot, two-story building positioned between the playing fields that began construction in late July 2011 and opened in time for the start of the 2012-13 academic year. The first floor includes concessions and restrooms for patrons as well as two dressing rooms for umpires and multiple storage areas. The second floor features separate press boxes for baseball and softball, coaches’ offices, and a donors’ suite with indoor and outdoor seating. New grandstands with stadium seating, a ticket booth, and a paved entry plaza are also included.
